BELUGA BLACK LENTILS organic
Black beluga lentils is the smallest variety of lentils, its grains are round, black, shiny, like black eggs, hence the name. After boiling, it perfectly retains its shape, has a special unique taste and aroma, as if a whole bunch of aromatic spices have already been added to it. This variety of lentils is so self-sufficient that it can be used to prepare salty meals. Beluga lentils are perfect for salads, stews, soups and side dishes.
Beluga lentils differ from all the others in their original appearance, rich spicy taste and aroma. It has a rather delicate skin, but after boiling it retains its shape perfectly.
Initially, the Beluga lentil was grown in Canada as a back-up crop (it was previously sown in fields to enrich the soil with nitrogen). The plant is undersized, which makes harvesting lentils difficult, but at the time of its hatching, it was not worried about it. When the taste of the Beluga was appreciated, it began to be grown for food purposes, despite the fact that the difficulties in harvesting make the product quite expensive.
