Cardamom pods come from the ginger family and contain various seeds. Its luxurious scent, combining strength and tenderness, resembles at the same time lemon, eucalyptus and camphor - fresh and slightly tart.
Cardamom seeds are rich in essential oils. Cardamom is the leader in zinc content among spices; cardamom is also rich in calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, sodium, vitamins of groups A and B.
They are very versatile and can be used in both sweet and savoury cooking. Cardamom can be used to freshen breath and are widely used as a digestive aid.

The aromatic spice is found in soups - especially where there are peas, beans, lentils, legumes, in dishes with potatoes and rice, it is added to vegetables, fruits and nuts.
In drinks it is used as an infusion (without boiling), powder, milk broth.
In the dessert menu, cardamom is found as a component of sweet milk porridge and pilaf, cakes, gingerbread, cookies, muffins, pastries, halva, mousses.
Cardamom can be used in black teas instead of citrus fruits in pods or beans. The taste of this drink will especially appeal to those who love bergamot tea. The tradition of drinking cardamom tea came to us from India and China, where it is considered a "drink of wisdom".
Coffee with cardamom is considered traditional in Arab and Asian countries. Cardamom gives coffee a noble taste, eliminating the toxicity of caffeine and reducing the risk of tachycardia and high blood pressure. To prepare a drink, a few ground seeds are placed in a Turk before brewing or in ready-made coffee.
